5 Outdoor Adventures Worth the Bumps and Bruises Along the Way

Autumn is here, but it still feels like summertime Kauai, and that means it’s still the season for outdoor fun in the sun. Fall is beautiful on Kauai (you should come visit us!) and wherever you are, you’ve probably got a few more summer adventures in you.

But being active outdoors has its risks, and everyone gets bruised, scraped, or strained sometimes. Make sure to keep your trusty bottle of Noni Lavender Lotion on hand to help you heal quickly, with no scars to show for your adventures!

These four outdoor adventures are totally worth any bumps and bruises you might get along the way, especially if you’ve got the power of noni on your side to ease the pain and help you heal.

Surfing

This is probably Hawaii’s most famous outdoor adventure. If you live near a coast, or can vacation to one, surfing is a great way to get close to nature, get a great workout, and experience the thrill of riding the waves. Plus, you can cool down on a hot day!

Surfing is tons of fun, but it definitely has its risks. In particular, scrapes from coral reefs can be very painful, slow to heal, and prone to infection. Sore or strained muscles and bruises from your surfboard are other occupational hazards of surfing.

After surfing, apply Noni Lotion to any injuries and sore muscles, along with any other first aid you need. In the weeks after your injury, apply noni lotion to the injury about 3 times per day until healed. Many surfers in Hawaii have used our Noni Lavender Lotion for years to heal reef scrapes.

Getting banged up, scraped, and bruised is part of the adventure—don’t let it hold you back from hanging ten!

Hiking and Rock Climbing

This is another great adventure to do on Kauai. We have tons of scenic trails to beautiful waterfalls, isolated beaches, and amazing overlooks, as well as places to climb for many different skill levels. Try to make it out hiking or climbing at least one more time this season, especially if you get fall colors where you live.

Hiking has its risks, from sprained ankles to contact with poisonous plants. Climbing can be even more dangerous. But the risks shouldn’t stop you from getting out and experiencing nature!

If you do happen to run into any poisonous plants while you’re out on the trail, Noni Lavender Lotion can help you heal more quickly with less itching and irritation.

Cycling

Cycling is a sport that can truly be done anywhere, and at any skill level. Whether you enjoy road biking or mountain biking, it’s an amazing way to get close to nature and get a great workout.

But even if you’re very careful, cycling often involves “hitting the pavement” in an all too literal sense. Road rash, bruising, and pain in your knees and back are common cycling injuries. Make sure to always wear a helmet to prevent debilitating or lethal head injuries!

After your adventure, apply noni lotion to any sore muscles or injuries. After a truly epic bike ride, there’s nothing like a massage with IcyHeat Noni Lotion. For fastest pain relief, apply the Icy Heat Noni Lotion to the bottoms of your feet first, and then to the area in pain. The 2000+ nerve endings in your feet carry the pain-relieving beneficial compounds to the injured area almost instantly.

Kayaking and Canoeing

These adventurous outdoor water sports are perfect for thrill-seekers and nature-lovers alike—you can choose the intensity of your adventure. Whether you’re out on a placid lake or navigating rushing rapids, canoeing and kayaking gets you close to nature and gets your heart pumping.

The possibility of boating injuries, from small scrapes and bruises to more serious trouble, shouldn’t keep you from your adventure.

The most common boating “injury” is a fairly common one: sunburn. Sunburn might not seem that serious, but it’s still very important to avoid it, and to try to heal as quickly as possible when you do get burned.

Skiing and Snowboarding

It’s not quite the season for snow sports yet, but it’s never too soon to start planning! Skiing and snowboarding are both amazing workouts, and they let you explore a snowy, mountain wilderness that’s otherwise pretty inaccessible.

But snow sports are notoriously hard on joints in particular, as well as muscles. Knees and ankles take a lot of jarring and impact as you ski or snowboard down a slope, and many skiers frequently suffer from chronic joint pain.

Before you hit the slopes, apply one of our noni lotions to any problem joints or muscles to help keep them strong and prevent cramps while you’re out. After your adventure, apply noni lotion again to help with the healing process.
