How to be the perfect pet parent

Congratulations you're a pet parent!!
No matter if this is your first or fourth fur-baby (fish, fowl and reptiles included) it's always helpful to go over what it takes to be the perfect pet parent.

1. Be prepared. How well do you know the breed or pet you are taking home? Do you know the common health issues that may arise in theGroup of pets future? Are you able to afford food, spay or neuter, shots, and toys? Saving $10-20 each paycheck can help alleviate these expenses. Some veterinarians offer a pet insurance program with low co-pays that cover routine shots and visits. Remember, a healthy pet is a happy pet.

2. Be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day so don't expect your new pet to immediately know where to go potty or not to chew on your socks. Animals get excited and forget things just like people do. Which leads to the next point.....

3. Be consistent. In school, almost every night you had homework. Extra curriculum activities required weekly if not daily practice sessions. To memorize a speech you have to repeat it out loud several times before going to bed each night. All of these things have one very important thing in common: Consistency. Keep the litter box in the same place for a while until your pet is acclimated to their new home. If the litter box isn't an option, bring the pet outside as soon as it wakes up from sleeping or is done eating to go potty. If you don't want your pet to chew your socks keep them away from your pet and never let them have it. Even if your tired don't slack! Trust me, pets are smart and consistency is the only way to show who's boss of who. It's not fair for a pet to be scolded for bad behavior when they were trained inconsistently.

4. Be there. Dogs are pack animals. Certain breeds of dogs are bred to work, herd and run. Most birds live in a flock. Horses naturally live in herds. Be aware of your pet's needs and be there for them. Most bad behavior is due to lack of attention and stimulation. I've known dogs to chew holes in doors and destroy mattresses due to separation anxiety. Make sure you have the time to spend with your pets so that their needs are fulfilled. Whether it's human or animal, friendship is a two-way street.

5. Be loving. Pets are one of the few living creatures that give unconditional love. Isn't it fair that they receive the same love in return? They wait all day for you to come home. No matter how bad of a day you had, they are so happy to see you! They deserve some love! Think about it: Cats and dogs live only 7-10 years on average so a whole day feels like a week to them. Think about how you would miss your children or significant other after a whole week. Puts their excitement to see you into perspective doesn't it? No matter if your pet has fur, feathers, or scales..... We all need a little love.

Boy with Puppy6. Healthy diet with Noni. Did you know that noni is just as beneficial for your pet as it is for you? Forget the table scraps. Give your new family member noni! Unlike table food which can be toxic to your pet, noni is perfectly safe according to Dr. Joyce Harman. Hawaiian Organic Noni Fruit Leather is a raw whole food made of 100% fresh noni pulp. The same 165 compounds that help you with inflammation, blood sugar and pain will have the same effects on your beloved pet. Sounds too good to be true? You can read positive reviews regarding noni fruit leather here: http://www.real-noni.com/Noni-Fruit-Leather-for-Pets/

7. Noni for itching and fleas. Fleas are public enemy #1 when it comes to your furry friend. Not only are fleas uncomfortable they are also dangerous, carrying diseases and can take over your home! One thing to remember is that fleas don't like is the taste of lavender noni lotion. Applying lavender noni lotion to your pets skin (or combing through their coat) can not only prevent fleas, but can also ease inflammation and itching allowing the skin to heal faster. Combining the power of noni fruit leather for internal health and noni lavender lotion for topical health you can rest assured both you and your pet are in good hands..... Naturally!
